Spring

The inhabitants, following the English tradition,take great pride in their gardens. In Spring they will be looking their best, full of colourful flowers and blossom on the trees. Hagley Park, in the centre of the Garden City, has a magnificent display of flowering cherry trees  

Summer in the City

The Autumn trees look splendid with the change of colours .Its a good time to go tramping up at Victoria Park, walking through the trees .Take a picnic, dine overlooking the beautiful vistas of the city below. The days may often be warm, with the odd shower.

Winter

Winter is a good time to come to Christchurch and go skiing or snowboarding, the nearest ski fields are only an hour and a half away. The snow is great, the views breathtaking and the fields are very uncrowned by European standards, no long queues for the lifts here! Days can still sometimes be warm enough to wear a T-shirt but usually you’ll need a jacket, it will be cold when the sun goes down, especially on the ski slopes.
